Motorcycle Clutch Kits, Chains, Sprockets & Drive Parts — Page 98
Clutch kits, friction and steel plates, clutch springs and baskets, drive chains, front and rear sprockets, drive belts, and primary-drive parts. A slipping clutch under hard acceleration, a chain you can pull off the rear sprocket, or hooked sprocket teeth are all signs the driveline is due.
Chains and sprockets wear into each other, so replace them as a set — a new chain on hooked sprockets wears out in a fraction of its life. Match chain pitch and length to your model, and use a rivet-type master link where the manufacturer calls for it. Gearing changes (a tooth up or down) are the cheapest acceleration mod there is; new clutch plates should soak in oil before installation unless the maker says otherwise.
